This report describes an efficient strategy for the dual construction of ortho-C–N and ipso-C (sp 2)–C (sp 3) bonds via palladium/norbornene cooperative catalysis. This strategy employs N-benzoyloxyamine as a stable and readily available amine source for selective ortho-amination of ortho-substituted iodobenzene and utilizes potassium arylacetate as a benzyl nucleophile for the formation of ipso-C (sp 2)–C (sp 3) bonds, efficient construction of o-aminodiarylmethanes in a single catalytic cycle.
